LED technology significantly reduces CO2 emissions thanks to its low energy consumption: it enables a saving of 80% over incandescent and halogen light bulbs, and the lifetime a new bulb is a good 25 times longer than that of incandescent bulbs. LEDs also offer new extraordinary design possibilities as they enable the creation of smaller, vibration-free light sources that generate less heat.
In our collaboration with Foreverlamp, the theme involved has naturally led us to a kind of blurring of borders between bulbs and lamps: our project in actual fact included actual licht bulbs, traditional lamps and small portable lamps. We have designed the lamps to meet a demand that has been growing in the recent years among the public at large: the need for flexible lighting solutions that are suitable for any time of day and can be used for variety of purposes around the house.
Currently a clear lighting solution is not available. Existing lighting solutions need a direct link to a wall socket, which brings with it the hassle of unattractive cables and fixed luminaire positioning. And, as dimmers are often not integrated in the luminaire, it is not possible to create the desired atmosphere anywhere else but at a fixed location.
With the arrival of AlessiLux’s portable luminaire collection we are moving a step closer to a new lighting future that creates a desired atmosphere everywhere. Our designs of portable luminaires are working on powerful rechargeable batteries to lighten up any place. And with the integrated touch dimmer people can now create the right atmosphere for any occasion. Whether it’s for a cosy late evening drink in the garden, a soft light source in the child’s bedroom, an elegant emergency light source next to your bed or a bright reading light on the campground.
